For Lewis Hamilton, becoming the world’s youngest Formula 1 World champion wasn’t as nerve-wracking as meeting Queen Elizabeth II. At 24, the F1 driver met the queen and was made a Member of the Order of the British Empire. According to Hamilton, he was incredibly nervous and overwhelmed. The Queen told him that she watched his race in Brazil (which took place in November of 2008) and saw him claim the title. Now knowing he has a royal fan, Hamilton and the McLaren team are stepping up their preparations for the Australian GP that will take place on March 29.
