Nissan Leaf 2010

Posted on 24 September 2009 by anthony

The 2010 Nissan Leaf is one of Nissan’s newest hybrids.  This little hatchback seats four or five people, and it’s fully ready to become a car for everyday use.  nissan-leaf-2010Nissan designed it to have a 160 kilometre range on battery power, and since studies have shown that most people drive less than 100 km a day, that’s more than enough to get around.  The Leaf features two charging ports hidden behind the front Nissan logo.  Off to either side of the logo are two interesting headlamps—they’re tinted a blue colour, but they provide plenty of light at night.  The body of the Leaf itself is nothing pretty or extraordinary, but it’s very functional and aerodynamic, and no one would really call it ugly.

The inside is fairly spacious and has room for a good amount of cargo.  The smooth, sleek panels and controls look very futuristic.  When it comes to battery power, the entire car is run off of 48 lithium ion modules.  It takes less than eight hours to charge up the whole thing.  However, if you need a quick charge, the vehicle does have a fast charge option that will give it an 80% charge in about 30 minutes.  However, this does require3 adding a special charger, which will cost extra.
