GM is finally bowing to peer pressure by cashing in on the Transformers movie by producing a Chevrolet Camaro “Transformers Edition”. The film featured a whole range of GM vehicles, including a Chevrolet Volt, a Hummer, a GMC truck, a Pontiac Solstice and of course, the “Bumblebee” Camaro. Once the first filmed had aired, GM received numerous enquiries about the “Bumblebee”, so they decided to take action.

The result was the new Transformer Edition of the Chevrolet Camaro. Coming as a standard or a high-performance model, fans are sure to be delighted with the new offerings. The standard models come powered by a 3.6 litre V6 engine or a V8. The V6 uses variable valve timing for optimum fuel economy and performance, and produces 304hp.

The high-performance versions of the car come with a 6.2 litre V8 engine as a six speed manual or automatic. The manual models produce upwards of 426hp.

The car comes fitted out with USB and Bluetooth connectivity, satellite radio and GM’s much vaunted OnStar system – all as standard. Not to disappoint Transformers fans, the car has an Autobot shield on both the driver and passenger side panels, the same in the centre of each hubcap, as well as a logo embedded into the rally stripes on the bonnet.
