The 2010 Honda CR-V is one of Honda’s compact SUV’s that merges comfort with style and versatility to create a great vehicle capable of carrying five.
You’ll find both all-wheel and front-wheel drive versions of the CR-V, and there are three different trims available as well: the LX, EX, and EX-L. All three feature a 194 horsepower, 2.4-litre four-cylinder engine and a five speed automatic transmission. For 2010, an additional 14 horsepower has been added to the engine (it was previously a 180 hp engine). The front and back bumpers have also been redesigned, and a new grille has been added. The EX-L trim has a new USB interface and automatic headlights.
The interior of the Honda CR-V features a six-CD player (EX trim), MP3 capability, and an optional navigation system that comes with Bluetooth connectivity. The EX-L trim includes heated front seats, satellite radio, and leather upholstery. All trims feature a variety of safety devices, including front seat airbags, front and rear side curtain airbags, a tire pressure monitor, and anti-lock disc brakes.

The 2010 GMC Acadia is a SUV that combines the smooth ride of a car with the seating and cargo room of a SUV. This makes it somewhat unique among SUVs.
The 2010 GMC Acadia features a new SLE-2 trim, giving drivers four different options (the SLE-1 and SLT-1 and SLT-2 being the other three trims). Each comes in either all-wheel or front-wheel drive and features many different safety features. As far as power goes, the Acadia uses a direct injection 3.6 litre V6 and a six-speed automatic transmission.
As far as the interior goes, you’ve got two bucket seats in the front and optional seating configurations for both the second and third row of seats, so you can actually carry up to eight passengers at once. For 2010, the interior also comes equipped with USB ports on the radios, plus some new exterior colours will be available.

The Ford Explorer has been one of the top SUV’s on the market, and the 2010 version is no different. It comes with rear-wheel, four-wheel, or all-wheel drive options and has two different engine versions.
You can go with a 210 horsepower 4.0-litre V6 with a five-speed automatic transmission or a 292 horsepower, 4.6-litre V8 with a six-speed automatic, although the second is only available in the Limited or Eddie Bauer trim (not on the XLT option). The interior is quite nice, featuring satellite radio, leather upholstery, heated front seats, and a third row of seating so you can easily carry seven passengers. Some nice interior options include Bluetooth connectivity, a 6 CD changer, dual-zone climate controls, and a power-folding third-row seat.
For 2010, Ford has mostly upgraded the Eddie Bauer trim option. The manual-folding third-row seat is not a standard, giving this trim the capability of seating seven just like the XLT and the Limited. However, the Eddie Bauer trim no longer features all-wheel drive.

The newly upgraded 2010 Chevrolet Avalanche 1500 is still a large truck that offers a lot of hauling capacity while providing the seating space of a five-passenger SUV. The 2010 Avalanche comes in three different trims, the LS, LT, and LTZ, though it only comes in one setup, that of a half-ton yet full-sized pickup.
The cab features four doors and can hold six passengers, although it may be a tight fit for some. The back bulkhead can actually be folded down so you can get into the bed if you have it enclosed. The 2010 Avalanche features a 320 horsepower 5.3 litre V8 engine that features the FlexFuel system and comes with a six-speed automatic transmission standard.
New features on the 2010 include a standard USB port for the radio. The LT model now comes with automatic climate control, remote starter, and rear parking speakers. The LTZ model has a few new additions, too, including voice activated navigation, a rear parking camera, and an upgraded sound system.

The 2010 Honda Element isn’t going to make quite the stir that the original Element made, but it’s still a very solid car, especially for those wanting something that looks a bit different. It’s very close to the current Element—in fact, Honda didn’t really touch the engine at all. It features a 166 horsepower 2.4 litre, but you do have an option of manual or automatic transmission.
The two-wheel-drive versions are actually front-wheel powered, which gives the Element better traction.
The major changes come in the appearance. The 2010 Element is still going to look like a cube on wheels, of course, but it’s got a few tucks and lifts here and there. The roof is one of the tallest on any vehicle, and the side doors swing open instead of roll back. The Element is also one of the smallest in the small SUV class when it comes to passengers—it can hold only four.
It’s the unique list of features that really make the 2010 Element stand out. The seats can actually be changed around to make 64 different combinations, including folding into a twin bed. The vehicle also has keyless entry, a very nice sound system, XM radio, a navigation screen, rear backup camera, and more.

The Outback has been one of Subaru’s most well-known vehicles, and now it’s making a comeback in 2010. The fourth generation of the Outback, the 2010 version has many new features.
First, the Outback will feature a new, unique body instead of simply reusing one of the Legacy station wagon bodies. It looks more like an SUV than before, and it’s also a bit larger. The new body gives more room for passengers and more cargo space, too. As far as engines go, there are two options: a 2.5 litre four cylinder and a 3.6 litre six cylinder. The 2010 Outback also offers manual transmission for the first time. Of course, automatic transmission is still available and gets a bit better fuel economy, too. This is because it’s a continuously variable transmission which actually keeps the engine running at an optimal rpm instead of letting the revolutions per second rise as the car accelerates.
Want to go off-roading? The Outback is great for that. You’ve got a good amount of ground clearance, and some of the overhangs have been trimmed in both the front and the back. The Outback also features a roof rack for carrying equipment, an optional sound system with USB and iPod support, a navigation system, and more.

The Volkswagen Tiguan R Line is a sporty SUV model that has been designed and built by the good people of Volkswagen Individual, who happen to be a separate engineering department of Volkswagen and who were created in 2003 to oversee “special” projects.
The new R Line is based on the Sport model to which has been added a front splitter that sits just beneath the front bumper together with a chrome grille. Nineteen inch multi spoke alloy wheels surrounded by blistered wheel arches give the vehicle a resolute appearance, while fitted sill extensions lead to a newly designed rear bumper. The new look is topped off by a small spoiler sitting above the rear window.
Interiorly, the Tiguan has a new style multi-function steering wheel, contoured sports seats and aluminium pedals. Climate control is fitted as standard to the vehicle, which also includes four airbags, rain sensors, automatic lights, and sports suspension.
Under the bonnet there is a choice of a range of two litre diesel TDI engines and a two litre TSI engine. The car comes in five colours with prices starting at £24,600 for the two litre PS model, which rises to £26,300 for the two litre TSI.

Being close in size to the 3-Series, the X1 is an entry level SUV to the BMW range. It is rather like a mini version of the larger X5, just compacted and in a more affordable package. It has five seats and a 1350 litre luggage capacity in the boot, giving it more than a decent amount of stowage.
There will be a choice of three diesel engines (it will be diesel only in the UK) when it comes onto the market, with the options of rear wheel or four wheel drive capabilities. The 1995cc engine can produce 143hp, going from 0-62 mph in 8.1 seconds and having a top speed of 127 mph. The engine has been EU5 rated and the CO2 emissions are 136g/km.
Most models will have six speed manual gearboxes; however, the xDrive23d will have a six speed automatic gearbox with the paddles located on the steering wheel. Manual transmission models have stop-start as standard, optimised aerodynamics, brake energy regeneration and an optimum shift indicator.
The dashboard and main controls angle toward the driver and there is a range of storage options for personal effects.
The BMW X1 will hit the forecourts in the United Kingdom on October 24th 2009, while the xDrive18d and the sDrive18d models making an appearance in December.

While it may not be getting the same attention as the newer Borrego is, the Kia Sorento SUV is still very much alive.
The 2010 model is Kia’s medium-sized SUV—smaller than a Borrego but bigger than a Sportage.
Despite its size, the Sorento features off-road capability. One of the major upgrades to the 2010 version is a new body design that will improve the Sorento’s fuel efficiency, its handling, and make its overall ride much smoother, even when it’s off-road. As with the current Sorento, the 2010 model will be available in both four-cylinder and six-cylinder versions. For those looking at the top of the range model, you’ll have the option of a 3.8-litre Lambda V6, which gives the Sorento a good amount of get up and go.
